JOB DESCRIPTION:
Project Role Description: The Linear Quality Video Ops Team focuses on IP & QAM video content, ad quality, & stream performance. We are responsible for the analysis, measurement, and adjustments of ad insertion for IP-QAM streams. We serve as operators & validation points for on-going stream Monitoring Platforms.
As a Video DevOps Engineer & Operational Support Resource, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and scaling systems and processes that enhance video stream quality, ad insertion accuracy, and operational support tools. This role requires a blend of DevOps engineering, testing expertise, and operational analysis to ensure seamless video performance and optimal user experience. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, manage infrastructure, automate workflows, support new stream intake, execute quality assurance testing, and respond to system incidents.
Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & DevOps:
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.
• Maintain cloud environments (GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes-based infrastructure for scalability and security.
• Automate workflows, manage API integrations, and optimize video stream quality.
Operational & Testing Support:
• Conduct stream maintenance, new stream intake, and smoke test validations.
• Investigate and resolve tickets related to Video Ops support tools.
• Manage Jira test cases, track defects, and ensure timely resolution.
Video & Ad Quality Assurance:
• Perform QA testing on video monitoring platforms and content management systems.
• Validate ad insertion accuracy using SCTE-35 triggers, MPEG2, MPEG4, and IP/QAM Video.
• Support Video Engineers with testing, validation, and issue resolution.
Monitoring & Incident Management:
• Optimize video streaming systems using logging and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Provide on-call support for critical operational issues and participate in quarterly stream maintenance.
Preferred Skills:
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (GCP, Azure) and containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (Python, Ansible) to improve workflow efficiency.
• Hands-on experience with logging and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Knowledge of video streaming protocols, ad insertion systems, and SCTE-35 triggers.
• Familiarity with Jira for test case management, defect tracking, and operational support.
• Ability to balance detail-oriented testing with the broader context of video content quality.
• Inquisitive, driven, and proactive, capable of working with minimal oversight
